Beginning Handbuilding Workshop is the perfect introduction to the ancient and deeply satisfying art of working with clay using just your hands and basic tools. This is an introduction to clay that requires no experience, and offers to building skills using a general understanding of the technical and creative foundation of ceramics. This welcoming, hands-on class you will explore the three foundational handbuilding techniques: pinch, coil, and slab construction. Guided by an instructor with 29 years of experience in clay work, in our fully equipped studio, you will leave with a genuine understanding of how clay behaves, a collection of pieces you made yourself, and the confidence to keep creating.
