Beginning Wheel Throwing

The Beginning Wheel Throwing Workshop invites you to experience one of the most iconic and meditative crafts in the world, shaping clay on a spinning wheel with your own two hands. We recommend the Introduction to Hand Bulding Workshop first, but with any clay handling experience at all, our patient, encouraging instructors will guide you through centering, opening, and pulling up your first cylinder in a supportive and unhurried studio environment. Wheel throwing has a learning curve, and we celebrate that every imperfection is a milestone on the journey toward greater control, and beautiful wheel work. You will leave our studio with a deeper appreciation for the craft, complete sets of hand thrown work, and very likely a new obsession. If you have ever watched a potter at the wheel and thought I want to try that — this is your moment.
